Two Berwick residents injured in crash at 4-way stop sign

ROCHESTER - Two motorists were injured Tuesday afternoon when their vehicles collided at the intersection of Portland Street and Salmon Falls Road.

The crash occurred around 4:25 p.m. when police say Christopher Travers, 35, of East Rochester, was driving a Hyundai Sonata traveling south on Portland Street as Paul Spinucci, 62, of Berwick, Maine, was operating a Toyota Corolla traveling east on Salmon Falls Road.

Police say Travers proceeded through the 4-way stop intersection when he was struck by the Corolla.

As a result of the collision, Spinucci and a passenger, Charlotte Spinucci, were taken to Frisbie Memorial Hospital with what were described as nonlife threatening injuries.

The accident remains under investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact Officer Timothy Costin as 603-330-7127 in reference to 20-276-AC.
