Two make sergeant at Strafford County Sheriff's Office

DOVER - The Strafford County Sheriff's Office has promoted two deputy sheriffs to the rank of sergeant.

Both will be assigned to the Transport Division of the Sherriff's Office.

Robert Fitzsimmons has been employed with the county since 2013. He is a retired Deputy Chief of Police with the MBTA, Transit Police in Boston and holds a Juris Doctorate as well as a master of arts in criminal justice.

Fitzsimmons is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy, Session #251.

Jennifer Payne has been employed with the county since 2014. She began her career with the Somersworth Police Department having worked there for eight years before joining the SCSO. Payne holds a bachelor's in business studies. She is also the Sheriff's Office Liaison with the Special Olympics.

As sergeants in the Transport Divisions they will be responsible for oversight of transport and security dealing with inmates from the County as well as United States Marshalls and Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
