DOVER - Nearly two months after a man was fatally shot outside a riverside bar, the state attorney general's office says police have interviewed all those present and have a good grasp of what happened, but more investigation is still needed to determine if charges are forthcoming.

"We've interviewed all the parties in the case and identified those involved," said Peter Hinckley, an assistant attorney general. "Now it's just more investigation."

Hinckley said Dover Police continue to work possible leads, but said he could add little else in order to protect the integrity of the investigation.

Raymond Eldridge II, 34, of Dover, died the night of Dec. 18 from a single gunshot wound to the chest, according to a medical examiner's report, which noted the manner of death was homicide, meaning someone else caused his death.

Police say upon arrival at Castaways Tiki Bar and Restaurant they found an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound who died soon after.

Early news reports indicated a Chevrolet Avalanche with Maine plates was towed from the scene early Dec. 19 just hours after the shooting, however, Hinckley has said he'll have no comment on any connection to the shooting.

The bar is located on Cocheco Street on the banks of the Cocheco River.

According to Eldridge's Facebook Page, he had worked as a nondestructive testing inspector at Turbocam of Barrington for several years. The page also states he graduated from Dover High.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Sgt. Mark Nadeau at the Dover Police Department at (603) 742-4646.
