WATERBORO, Maine - Two drivers died at the scene of a head-on collision in Waterboro this morning.

The crash occurred in the 600 block of Townhouse Road around 7:45 a.m. when police say a 2010 Chrysler Town and Country Van was traveling south on Townhouse Road and collided with a 2020 Chevrolet Malibu that was also traveling north.

The van is owned by Southern Maine Transportation and was operated by Hassan Abad Tukan, 51, of Westbrook, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Two passengers in the van, Mary Doughty, 34, and Christopher Curtis, 25, both of Standish, were taken to Southern Maine Healthcare with what were described as nonlife threatening injuries.

The Chevrolet Malibu was driven by April Barfield, 47, of North Waterboro, who was also pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash is being reconstructed by the Maine State Police, assisted by the York County Sheriff's Office.
