GONIC - Two drivers were injured in a Gonic Road collision on Monday evening.

The crash occurred around 4:45 p.m. in the area of 500 Gonic Road when police say Tanya Gouin, 32, of Springvale, Maine, was headed south in her Toyota Corolla and slowing to make a turn when Samantha Wade, 23, driving a Ford Escort, who was also headed south impacted the Corolla's rear bumper.

As a result of the collision both Gouin and Wade, of Barnstead, were taken to Frisbie Memorial Hospital with what were described as nonlife threatening injuries.

The southbound lane of Gonic Road was shut down while emergency crews were on scene.

The case is still under investigation at this time. Anyone with information about this collision is asked to contact the Rochester Police Department at 603-330-7128.
