UPDATE: Pedestrian killed in late night crash ID'd as Rochester teen

GONIC - A man walking along Route 125 was killed late Wednesday night after he was struck by a vehicle.

The accident occurred around 11:50 p.m. in the area of Bootleggers and Tri-City Car Wash on Gonic Road.

When police and rescue crews arrived they found the pedestrian in the northbound lane of travel lying on the road with severe injuries.

A brief investigation revealed that both the pedestrian and the vehicle, a 1999 Dodge Caravan driven by Ari Goldenberg, 50, of Milton, were traveling north on Route 125 when the accident occurred.

The pedestrian, Noah M. Ratliff, 18, was transported to Frisbie Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The road was shut down as emergency personnel tended to the pedestrian and accident scene.

The Strafford County Regional Accident Reconstruction Team responded to further investigate the accident. Route 125 between Oak Street, and the on/off ramps to Route 16 and Exit 12 remained closed as of 3 a.m. but are expected to reopen as of 5 a.m.
