Updated: Rochester man wanted on child porn, assault charges taken into custody

ROCHESTER - Just hours after Rochester Police asked for help in locating a city man wanted on child porn and simple assault charges he was arrested without incident.

Paul Patsalis, 76, was taken into custody late Tuesday afternoon, charged with felony child porn and misdemeanor assault.

During an investigation into the case, Patsalis was spotted at the Rochester Commons on Monday talking to a 5-year-old girl. It was then noticed that Patsalis was holding her stuffed animal while he appeared to be touching or rubbing her back. When Patsalis was confronted he left the area in a black Volkswagen.

Patsalis is currently being held at Strafford County Jail pending an arraignment at Strafford Superior Court.

Information surrounding the circumstances of his arrest were not immediately released.
