DOVER - Velma P. Eastman, 83, died Sunday, October 28, 2018, at Riverside Rest Home, following a period of failing health. Born April 4, 1935 in Burlington, Vt., she was the daughter of the late Gerald Thayer and Theta (Desautol) Miller.
Velma had worked as a cashier at the Portsmouth High School cafeteria.
Members of her family include her children Rhonda Goulet and husband David of Stark, Roger Jones and wife Correna of Norwich, Conn., Elaine Obey and husband Tom of East Wakefield, Kathy Edgerton and husband Brent of Cornish, Brenda Tremblay and husband David of Rochester, Diane Pitts and husband Todd of New Durham, Joseph Veno and wife Bev of Dunbarton, W. Va, Craig Eastman and wife Kara of Dover, Donna Drolet and husband Marc of Naples, Fla., and Eric Hardy and wife Keri of Eliot, Maine; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; two brothers Philip and Dean Thayer both of St. Albans, Vt.; nieces and nephews; son in-law David Harnois of North Hampton; and her beloved dogs Ollie and Pia.
She was predeceased by her daughter Lisa Harnois, a sister Geri,brothers Billy and Marvin.
