ROCHESTER - The man who died after falling from a Portsmouth parking garage while trying to escape a gang of individuals who had attacked him moments before outside a city nightclub has been identified as Zachary S. Colbroth of Rochester.
Witnesses say Colbroth, 28, got into a confrontation with several individuals inside the Gas Light Co. that spilled out onto the street near the High-Hanover parking garage around 1 a.m. Saturday.
Police say after Colbroth fled into the parking garage at least one of his assailants followed him. When he tried to climb onto the rail at the edge of the garage he fell onto a Hanover Street sidewalk, according to police. He later succumbed to his injuries at Portsmouth Regional Hospital.
No arrests have been made in the assault as Portsmouth Police continue their investigation.
Police say they have conducted several interviews with those involved and are hoping more witnesses will come forward.
