MADBURY - Violet Lillian (Allard) Dube of Madbury died on Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2022, in her home after a brief period of failing health. She was 96 years old. Violet was born in Laconia on July 31, 1926, to Joseph and Marie (Croteau) Allard. She was raised in South Berwick, Maine, where she met and married Lionel A. Dube in 1944. She will be sadly missed by her nine children, Joseph and Shirley (Davis) Dube of Trinity, Fla.; Claire Randlett of West Lebanon, Maine; Lionel Dube Jr. of West Lebanon; Dennis and Cindy (Kincaid) Dube of Rochester; Susan (Dube) and Donald Beadle of Lebanon, Maine; David and Wendy (Crodelle) Dube of LaGrangeville, N.Y.; Darlene Dube and Russell Kay of Madbury; Sharlene (Dube) Muhl of Milton; and Faith (Dube) and Theodore Bowen of Wappingers Falls, N.Y.

The oldest of 11, she leaves behind her siblings, Norman and Irene Allard, Richard and Sally Allard, Robert Allard, Edmond Allard, Shirley Ross, Raymond and June Allard, and Linda and Oscar Coates. She will be greatly missed by her 19 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Lionel A. Dube, Sr.; grandsons Cory Welch, Joseph Dube, and Derek McAtavey; siblings, Lucille Abel, Roger Allard, and Rose Ackerson; and lifelong friend, Della Brake.

Violet was a devoted mother and grandmother and was easily loved by all who knew her. She loved people and had the unique gift of brightening every room she entered, even in her twilight years. She was a devoted Catholic and a patron of St. Charles Church in Milton, St. Leo's Church in Gonic, and St. George's Church in Dover. She worked as a shop supervisor at Hubbard Shoe, Rochester Shoe, and Al-Gor Shoe Companies, retiring in 1989. Violet enjoyed crocheting, country music, casinos, and spending as much time as possible with her large and loving family.
