LEBANON - Walter A. Drapeau, 97, of 855 Center Road, died Thursday, April 6, 2017, at his home after a short illness. Born April 20, 1919, in Rochester, N.H., he was the son of Joseph and Lorena (Lord) Drapeau.
Walter has lived in Lebanon since 1979 after moving from Rochester. He owned and operated Tulsa Gas Station and was a truck driver for Sherwin Williams. He served in the Army during World War II and was awarded The Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He was a member of the Teamsters Union Local #633, former member of the Elks Lodge, VFW, IOOF Lodge #18 of Rochester, N.H. He enjoyed yardwork and being in the outdoors.
Members of his family include his wife of 44 years Constance (Couture) Drapeau of Lebanon, his daughter, Arlene Clark of Deltona, Fla., his stepchildren; Sandy Janowski and Larry DePalma and an adopted daughter, Janet Smith, many grandchildren and several great grandchildren, he is predeceased by his sons; Lawrence and Joseph Drapeau, and a daughter, Beverly Sisler, his brothers; Ken and John Drapeau.
