ROCHESTER - Walter Paul Johnson (nicknamed Tiny) of 36 Farmington Rd., Rochester, died peacefully Monday, June 11, 2018 at his home, surrounded by his loved ones.
Mr. Johnson was born April 28, 1941 in Lynn, Mass., the son of the late Willard and Marguerite (Swift) Johnson. He has resided in this area since 1986, and was last employed at Store 24 in Dover. He was a member of the Humane Lodge #21 Rochester. He served in Massachusetts National Guard.
Walter was known for his love of family and friends. He was always joking and doing good for others. He enjoyed his love for music. He enjoyed bowling and started his semi-pro career at Lynnway Bowling Alley in Lynn, Mass. and then eventually to Bowl Away Lanes of Rochester. His love for the game shined through by being an active member of the 400 club.
Walter is survived by his longtime companion, Sharon Vachon; children, Scott Johnson, Kent and wife Jennifer Johnson, Lyn and husband Stephen McKenney; stepchildren, Ian Gauslin, Aja Gauslin, Wayne Vachon; nine grandchildren: Katie Johnson and her significant other Evan Adams, Matthew and wife Kelsey Johnson, Tamara Johnson, Daniel Babb, Andrew Babb, Marina Gordon, Kelsey Johnson and fiancée Dan Tibbets and step grandson Dante McKenney; six great grandchildren: Jack and Connor O'Brien, Austin Adams, Jasmina Babb, and Kynzlee Babb and Zoie Mendonca.
He was predeceased by his wife Sandra (Nash) Johnson and brother Jay Johnson.
