ROCHESTER - Wilfred "Mitch" A. Michaud Jr., 76, of Rochester, N.H., died peacefully on Thursday, April 6, 2017, at the Dover Center for Rehabilitation surrounded by family and friends.
Mitch was born on January 16, 1941, in South Berwick, Maine. He was the son of the late Wilfred A. Sr. and Elise Marie (Bilodeau) Michaud.
Mitch has lived in Rochester since 1980. He was a retired veteran of the Army and Navy, where he served in the Vietnam War and was a plank owner on the USS John F Kennedy aircraft carrier. He was employed as a steel worker for the Army and the Navy. After his decades long service concluded he joined the private sector where he was employed as a steel worker and held various positions where his knowledge of pipe?tting, welding, engineering and management brought him success.
He is a member of the Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 23, VFW Post 1772, American Legion Post 47, Fleet Reserve Association Branch 7, AARP, American Society of Notaries, a Notary Public in New Hampshire and a Justice of the Peace in New Hampshire. Mitch had a passion for opera, woodworking, horse racing and politics.
He will be greatly missed but never forgotten. -
