ROCHESTER - William H. Vadeboncoeur Jr., died Thursday, April 19, 2018 at Langdon Place in Dover. He was born November 13, 1932 in Haverhill, MA, son of the late William H. Vadeboncoeur Sr. and Rosilda (Brisson) Vadeboncoeur.
Bill grew up in Haverhill, Mass. He was the youngest and only boy out of seven children. He served in the United States Army in the Korean War with the 25th Infantry Division. He was honorably discharged in October of 1954. On November 25, 1955, he married the love of his life, Wanda Collins. They resided for many years in Kingston and Exeter, while raising their three children. Bill was employed at Bradford Paper Mill and Continental Can before starting his career as an RV mechanic at Goudreault's and later at Camp America in Plaistow.
He resided the last 20 years of his life in Rochester, where he attended Emmanuel Advent Christian Church with his wife, daughter, and son-in-law, and was also a member of the VFW Post. He enjoyed woodworking, classic country and southern gospel music, watching the Red Sox and Patriots, and above all, spending time with his family. In the last couple of years since losing his beloved wife of 60 years, he enjoyed attending the senior breakfasts and community suppers at his church. He was a loving husband, father, father-in-law, and grandfather, and will be sorely missed.
Bill was predeceased by his wife, Wanda Vadeboncoeur, who died September 28, 2015, his son-in-law Greg Armstrong, and four sisters. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Ardis and Michael Bosse of Lebanon, Maine; daughter, Anita Armstrong of Rochester, son, William H. Vadeboncoeur III of Kingston; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; sisters, Claire Gurrier and Lorraine Allen; and numerous nieces and nephews.
