Windham man arrested in York beach stabbing

YORK, Maine - A Windham man was arrested on Thursday after police say he stabbed an individual multiple times in an unprovoked attack.

The attack occurred around 2:20 p.m. in the Short Sands Park parking lot.

Following the stabbing the suspect left in a vehicle and was reportedly traveling north on Shore Road, where Daniel Orban of Windham, was located and taken into custody without incident.

The victim was transported to a hospital, received medical attention, and is expected to survive despite suffering multiple stab wounds. Police say the attack was unprovoked attack and there is no longer any danger to the public.

Orban was charged with aggravated assault and was transported to York County Jail where he will be held pending an arraignment.
