ROCHESTER - Thanks to Greg Ostrowski, a drone and legions of fans of Gary's Sports Bar, owner Gary Hillsgrove has a fit remembrance of his good-bye party held at his Rochester tavern and restaurant on Sunday.

No less than 10 bands led off by Stiletto playing with some impromptu stand-ins belted out vintage Gary's type music - rocking, loud, raucous - to hundreds of fans who packed the landmark Rochester bar.

Around 1:30 p.m. Hillsgrove herded everyone who'd been playing pool and sipping beers or cocktails outside for the big shoot, including the help.

It took Ostrowski just a couple of minutes to position the drone perfectly to capture the moment.

After a few picture were taken, Hillsgrove herded the crowd back inside to continue the reveling, which went on nonstop throughout the afternoon.

As during many parties at the club, Hillsgrove could be seen mixing with the crowd, passing out Gary's coozies and other favors.

He told The Rochester Voice that he would be dismantling and selling all the equipment inside and said he suspects the building's owner will be looking to sell rather than lease.

The sports bar's last day open is expected to be Friday.

Ostrowski's pictures hadn't been posted on Gary's Sports Tavern Facebook page as of this morning.
