BEDFORD - One person suffered serious injuries after their vehicle crashed into a toll plaza on the F.E. Everett Turnpike on Tuesday, the second crash at the toll plaza in just two days.
Troopers responded to a single-vehicle crash around 11:55 a.m. to find a 2026 Lucid Gravity had struck the Bedford Toll Plaza, erupting into flames and trapping the driver inside, according to 911 callers.
While units were responding, a veteran State Trooper assigned to Governor Kelly Ayotte's security detail came upon the crash, saw that the vehicle was actively on fire, and observed the driver was still inside. The driver was then pulled from the burning car through a window and brought to safety, according to safety officials. Governor Ayotte, along with other witnesses at the scene, provided assistance to the Trooper.
The driver, identified as Yevgeny Mirman, 51, of Massachusetts, was transported by ambulance to an area hospital with serious injuries. The name of the Trooper is being withheld due to the nature of their position.
"Certainly, their actions were heroic in what they did," said Colonel Mark B. Hall. "Without hesitation, they put themselves in danger to render aid to someone who was in need of it."
No charges have been filed at this time; however, all aspects of the crash remain under investigation. Anyone with information that may assist the ongoing investigation is asked to contact Trooper Nathan Belanger at Nathan.R.Belanger@dos.nh.gov.
On Sunday a Massachusetts woman was charged with DWI and reckless conduct after a rollover crash at the same toll plaza.
