Woman drowns after falling into Westmoreland brook

WESTMORELAND - A woman drowned on Sunday after falling into a brook off the Connecticut River in Westmoreland.
Police and rescue responded to the scene at Partridge Brook around 3:25 p.m. and learned that the victim had been seen along the shoreline of the brook prior to the incident.
She is from out of state, safety officials said. Her identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Foul play does not appear to be a factor, however an autopsy is scheduled for today by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
