Woman found guilty of strangling son accused in Dover chainsaw theft

DOVER - A Rochester woman who was found guilty in November of strangling her son multiple times over a three-year period has been indicted on accomplice to burglary charges in the theft of a chainsaw from a Dover residence.

Kristi Clement, 33, who is now residing at Strafford County Jail, is accused of entering a detached garage on Dover Point Road on Dec. 29 with the purpose to facilitate a burglary and assist in the theft of the chainsaw, according to the charging document.

Her alleged accomplice in the burglary, Gregory Castoras, 33, formerly of Reagan Drive, Rochester, was indicted on similar charges.

Clement, formerly of Heaton Street, Rochester, was found guilty in November of tormenting her son for years when he was around 10 at the time of the abuse.

Both Clement and Castoras face up to seven years in state prison if found guilty.

The Strafford County grand jury indictments were handed down on March 14 and released to the public on Friday.

An indictment is not an indication of guilt, rather that enough evidence has been gathered to warrant moving forward to trial.
