Woman reported in critical condition after jumping from I-95 bridge

PORTSMOUTH, N.H. - A 38-year-old Kittery, Maine, woman was in critical condition on Thursday at Portsmouth Regional Hospital after reportedly jumping off the I-95 bridge that connects New Hampshire and Maine.

According to New Hampshire State Police-Marine Patrol, the woman was seen jumping off the bridge shortly after 10 a.m.

Marine Patrol responded and located the woman in the water between the I-95 and Sara Long Bridges.

She was recovered by Marine Patrol and United States Coast Guard vessels and transported to Prescott Park where they were met by Portsmouth Fire/Rescue.

The woman, whose name is not being released, was transported to the Portsmouth Regional Hospital, where she was admitted and remained in critical condition.

No further word on her condition today has been released.
