LEBANON, Maine - A woman was rushed to Maine Medical Center on Saturday night after she was struck by what is thought to have been a three- or four-wheeler at 4X4 Proving Grounds where a Mud Run and other events were planned this weekend.

The woman, said to be in her 20s, was struck around 10:30 p.m., according to a source familiar with the incident.

A man driving the vehicle involved fled the area, the source said.

Several State Troopers were on scene trying to locate the man.

4X4 Proving Grounds owner Kurt Zeller said today he knew it was somewhere on their grounds, but not exactly where. He said his security team had handled the incident and met with State Police to help with the investigation.

He said the incident marred what had been a very successful weekend.

State Police were not immediately available for comment.
