ROCHESTER - A Rochester woman who called police to report her residence had been burglarized on Christmas Eve got an early unwanted present when she was given a summons for an alleged theft at Walmart earlier in the month.

Police responded to the residence of Amy L. Kincaid, 36, of 228 North Main St., around 7:20 a.m. on Monday for a report of a burglary.

Kincaid had called police to say that when she woke up Christmas Eve morning she noticed her back door was broken into and some household items were strewn about. She also said her laptops were gone, according to dispatch notes.

After police briefly investigated the break-in she was taken into custody on a warrant for a theft that occurred at Walmart on Dec. 12.

Kincaid was bailed on personal recognizance pending an arraignment next month.
