Woman who jumped from bridge succumbs to injuries

PORTSMOUTH, N.H. - A 38-year-old woman who jumped from the I-95 bridge that connects New Hampshire and Maine on Thursday has succumbed to her injuries.

Tanya L. Neal, of Portsmouth and Dixmont, Maine, (see obituary on Obituaries Page) died Friday at Portsmouth Regional Hospital where she had been brought in critical condition.

According to New Hampshire State Police-Marine Patrol, Neal was seen jumping off the bridge shortly after 10 a.m. on Thursday.

Marine Patrol responded and located her in the waters between the I-95 and Sara Long bridges.

She was recovered by Marine Patrol and United States Coast Guard vessels and transported to Prescott Park where they were met by Portsmouth Fire/Rescue.
