ROCHESTER - Rochester residents are in for a double dose of devilish fun on Oct. 28.
First, Rochester Main Street volunteers are busy planning for this year's Trick or Treat On The Town/Horrible's Parade, scheduled from 4:15-6:15 p.m. in the heart of downtown. This event is for children under 10, accompanied by a parent.
Participants should gather at the Union Street parking lot for Treat bags and participation maps from 4 p.m. on. More than 25 merchants and organizations are getting into the spooky spirit. This is a really fun event and a chance to connect with and get to know our downtown businesses.
Later on that evening there will be a trek down North and South Main Streets to the town common for the 6th Annual Bank of New Hampshire Zombie Walk. This is New Hampshire's largest Zombie Event for adults and teens to get their Halloween spirits and outfits together when they congregate by 6:45 p.m. in the Union Street parking lot.
Then at 7 p.m. they will be escorted by the police down North Main and South Main Streets to cider, doughnuts and what else...brains, at the Common, along with an outdoor movie; Halloween Town presented by Guyer Travel. There will be a special appearances from Corinne's School of Dance, Dance In Motion, and Studio 109 who will dance the route to "Thriller."
There is no charge to participate and only those who have learned the choreography may line up with the dancers, otherwise you must be a walking zombie. Free parking is available nearby at the Union, North Main, and Congress Street or City Hall parking lots. For more information on the Zombie Walk or to sign up to participate, (drummers, pipers and horns are definitely welcome!), please contact the Rochester Main Street Office at 603-330-3208 or email director@rochestermainstreet.org. The contact number the day of the event is 603-781-7116.
