ROCHESTER - The Rochester Recreation Department recently announced they are forming a Youth Advisory Committee made up of young people from Rochester Middle School and Spaulding High School.

According to a recent social media post and press release from the city, the goal is to gain a "youth perspective" and generate new ideas for future programming and other activities.

The Youth Advisory Committee will be asked to contribute to the department's Master Plan, identify new activities they would like to participate in, be a voice for youth in the community regarding programming and support increasing the number of young participants in rec activities.

Parental permission is required to participate. Interested young people are encouraged to contact Jeff Turgeon at jeffrey.turgeon@rochesternh.gov.

The next meeting is set for Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at the Rochester Recreation Department, 150 Wakefield St., Conference Room 1
