AG's Office says Rochester teen's death was a homicide

ROCHESTER - New Hampshire's Deputy Chief Medical Examiner determined on Monday that the cause of death of a Rochester teen who died in a Sunday shooting was a gunshot wound to the neck, and the manner of death was homicide.

The Rochester Police Department continues to investigate this crime. Detectives are asking for anyone with information about this crime to call the Rochester Police Department Crimeline at (603) 335-6500. Callers may leave tips anonymously.

Neighbors of the Rochester teen who died say he was an easy going, happy kid.

One neighbor who didn't want to give her name said he lived there with two other young men.

She said she never heard any gunshots but had been told four individuals broke into the apartment from the rear of his buidling.

Michael Mowry, 19, was found dead around 3:15 a.m. by Rochester Police, who responded to 64 Monroe Drive, Apt. 1, for a reported shooting.

Another neighbor who just moved into the upscale complex off Washington Street said she awoke to see blue flashing lights in her front window, but thought it was a random police patrol. She said when she woke up around 6:30 a.m. she looked out and saw the area all blocked off with police tape and several police vehicles including the Major Crimes Unit van.

The Rochester Police Department is actively investigating the incident. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Rochester Police Department Crimeline at (603) 335-6500. Callers may leave tips anonymously.
