Gunman struck by car after robbing Sanford store

SANFORD - A lone gunman wearing a knit mask with eyes cut out robbed a Sanford convenience store on Sunday.

The incident occurred around 4 p.m. at the Eastside Convenience store at 88 High Street.

While fleeing the scene the suspect was struck by a vehicle and lost a sneaker. He then got into a parked vehicle described as a white Ford 4-door car occupied by possibly two other people, one being a female, and fled the area.

The suspect was wearing a Boston Bruins black and gold sweatshirt, jeans and an orange knit hat pulled over his face.

Anyone with information on the crime is urged to call the Sanford Police Department Criminal Investigation Division or the Sanford Police Tip-Line (207-324-3644 - follow prompts).
